Job Title: Shift Brewer/ Cellar Person
Pay Range: $20 - $24 per hour
Hours: 40/Week with need for some weekends and afternoons.
Job Description Summary:
Shift Brewer/ Cellar Person is a vital member of our brewery team, responsible for supporting the brewing operations and ensuring the production of high-quality craft beer. This role involves assisting the Head Brewer and collaborating with other team members to execute all aspects of the brewing process, from wort production to packaging. The Shift Brewer/ Cellar Person will work closely with our small brewing team to maintain consistency and meet production goals.
Qualifications:
· At least two years of experience in a production brewery, formal education, or equivalent brewing knowledge is required
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· Prior experience with a Codi CL45 Canning Line is desired but not required.
· Familiarity with brewery equipment, including pumps, heat exchangers, fermentation vessels, brite tanks, serving tanks, and tap/kegging equipment is required
· Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on brewing equipment.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Basic computer literacy with basic understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
· Physical ability to lift heavy objects (kegs, bags of grain) and perform repetitive tasks.
· Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Ability to think critically to help us improve our processes, procedures, safety, and quality control
· A passion for craft beer and a desire to contribute to the growth of the brewery.
· Job is based on a standard 40 hour work week but flexibility will be required with hours.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure accurate measurements and adherence to recipes and brewing techniques.
· Clean and sanitize brewing equipment, tanks, kegs, serving tanks, and production areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
· Assist in inventory management, including raw materials, chemicals, and brewing supplies.
· Conduct daily quality checks during brewing and packaging, such as gravity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and sensory evaluations.
· Assist in maintaining accurate records, including brew logs, inventory data, and quality control documentation.
· Participate in sensory analysis sessions to provide feedback on beer flavor, aroma, and appearance.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of preventive maintenance schedules.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of yeast propagation and management.
· Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
· Adhere to established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and assist in updating them as necessary.
· Collaborate effectively with other team members, including taproom staff, brewers, packaging staff, and management.
